Proposed Ottawa School Bus Policy Integrates with the Fair Parenting Plan

The Ottawa School Transportation Authority (OSTA) is seeking your feedback regarding a new proposed policy that recognizes some students have two homes.  The proposed policy and draft procedure outline the requirements and responsibilities for all parties while ensuring that safety of the student is at the forefront.

OSTA's proposed policy allows for children and parents on the Fair Parenting Plan's schedule to integrate with school bus service. It is a welcome and exciting step forward.

Remembrance Day

A national parents’ organization will lay a wreath at the National War memorial, in Ottawa, Canada, on November 11th 2014, Remembrance Day to commemorate Corporal Nathan Cirillo, and the other Canadian fathers who have died in Canada’s wars. Corporal Cirillo, soldier, father, hero, died in October 2014.

Fair Parenting Professional's Registration & Certification

The Fair Parenting Project is developing a roster of Fair Parenting Professionals.

These professionals will be certified to act as a Fair Parenting Referee and make rulings respecting the application of the Fair Parenting Plan to any given fact situation.

A roster of Fair Parenting Professionals will also be maintained for Fair Parenting members. 

Certification to become a Fair Parenting Professional requires six hour of training and completion of an exam.
